Bahay-Bahayan is a pretending diversion where kids go about as members of the imaginary family, once in a while to the degree that one of them turns into the family "pet". They at that point carry on different family circumstances, for example, supper, going to mass, clothing, and so on. It would be perfect if there are four to five players of this fun game.<br><br>As Julia played "Bahay-bahayan" with her friends, she got lost in her daydreaming, a dream where she have a shiny, glittery house, everything was filled with magic. And as she came back to her senses she started talking about it to her friends and they decided to recreate Julia's imagination. They have fun as they play all through out the day. As time passed by, night come upon and thats their cue to go back to their respective houses, as Julia's friends leave her sight the light of the stars and moon shines upon.

Almost everywhere you look in the country, on the streets of Manila or along pristine beaches of Boracay, or in flashes amongst the forests of Bataan – you will see people sporting the colors of their favorite teams. The game requires little space, no maintenance, no expensive gear, and no required number of players for a social game. Its accessibility is a real key to why so many people play it – and it is fast and entertaining too. Basketball suits the life of Filipino teenagers well and is easy to learn but hard to master. This strategic and dynamic nature makes the game rewarding for both players and spectators.

Faith in My Journey - features stone steps found in Fort Santiago, Intramuros. I was unfamiliar with these stone steps, and I did not know what lies beyond as I did not go up the stairs. It was surrounded by lush greeneries, and at the landing on top you can find even more trees. The sight was both enchanting and mysterious. The painting is a symbol of keeping faith, of pushing through even when times are tough.

The title I gave the piece, "HANAP BUHAY", is a word play of "hanapbuhay" (occupation, livelihood). The watercolor painting features two street vendors with a backdrop of the Pakil Church facade seen behind them. "Hanap Buhay" here is not just a source of livelihood. It means, quite literally, "to find life".

In a Filipino neighborhood, kids cherished traditional games like "Luksong Tinik" or "Jump over thorns." In this game, agility, skill, and teamwork were crucial. Two leaders directed as players formed a thorn-like line by interlocking their fingers. The goal was to jump over this "thorn" line without touching it. Starting with easy jumps, the game got progressively harder. Excitement filled the air as children leaped, supported by cheers and encouragement. It was more than a game; it built camaraderie, teamwork, and cultural bonds. Luksong Tinik was a treasured part of their heritage, uniting the community and teaching valuable life lessons.

It was because of my desire for personal development and self expression that I ended up working with the pen and paper. I used these as tools to do introspection. It was in drawing, specifically doodling, where I truly got to reflect and express my thoughts. I use intricate details and patterns to express my journey towards self-discovery and my celebration of life. In my works, and in my life, in general, I find so much enjoyment in (creating) the details, but I find that there is also a different kind of excitement and satisfaction in believing that the bigger picture is, and will always be, better.<br><br>Lately, I have been playing with paint and colors. My painting "Open Curtain" was my work that got accepted at the International Watercolor Society - INDIA BIENNALE 2022. It was based on a photograph I took at the Presidential Museum and Library a few years ago. I was drawn to the warm colors of the scene and how the partially opened curtains showed a glimpse of a seemingly cool environment on the other side of the door. This contrast, to me, feels like the sense of security one feels when in a safe place.

This artwork was based on a photo taken in Recto, Manila years ago. I captured this photo of the overpass where two women, who I think were nursing students, were going up the stairs. Maybe they were going back after getting lunch at a convenience store nearby. Maybe this overpass was a significant part of their university life. Do you ever look at people and places and wonder what stories they have to share?

In a lively Filipino village, the annual fiesta was a cherished event. Amid the festivities, the "Palo Sebo" contest stood out. Participants of all ages took on the challenge of climbing a greased bamboo pole to reach a bag of prizes at the top. The crowd cheered them on as they struggled with the slippery ascent. Some used teamwork, while others relied on their strength and determination. The first victor descended with a triumphant grin. Throughout the day, the contest continued, fostering a sense of community and celebration. Even those who didn't win left with a sense of accomplishment and cherished memories. The Palo Sebo contest was a beloved tradition that united the village, promoting camaraderie and unity year after year.

I chose to paint my mom, who has been a dressmaker ever since, and I dedicate this artwork to her for her sacrifice and hard work for our family. And I decided it would be faceless because, just like my mom, who is good at hiding her emotions from us even though she is struggling and still manages everything to be in good shape just for the family.

In a coastal village, young Totoy adored kites, or "sarangolas." His passion ignited when his fisherman grandfather, Lolo Manuel, gifted him one. Inspired by Lolo's tales, Totoy crafted a special sarangola. On a gentle breeze, he released it at the cliffside where Lolo once flew kites. The kite soared, carrying village memories. Totoy's peers joined, creating a colorful sky symphony. At sunset, Totoy lowered the sarangola, feeling connected to his heritage. He continued sharing this tradition, uniting generations through the cherished "Sarangola ni Totoy."

Tropang Trumpo Series: 1, 2, and 3." are abstract painting series that pays homage to the cherished Filipino childhood game of spinning tops, known locally as "Trumpo" or "Trompo." <em>Under Pressure" is one of my favorite mosaic fabric projects, and it's a part of my trilogy inspired by photographs taken after Typhoon Glenda hit our place in Marikina City. At that time, my interest was to document the aftermath of the said typhoon, so I brought my camera with a long lens and headed to the areas where I could capture my interest.<br><br>Along the way, I noticed some fishermen in our community using a fishing net to catch tilapia and other fish for their personal food. The water was murky brown, and there were many dying janitor fish piled up with mud and emitting a foul smell as they began to rot one by one.<br>Some kids from the community undressed and played with these dying fish with their playmates. I tried to capture their happiness and immediately changed my focus to understand the meaning of life after the typhoon had struck us.<br><br>"Under Pressure" is a simple testament to life; even in our most challenging moments, we can still find joy once the morning sun rises again.</em>
